Murphy family plans timber and cotton farms near Quitman
John Murphy left Tuesday for Quitman Mississippi to invest in timber lands and farms if climate suits him. His son William earlier went to Quitman and has planted acres in cotton and corn. They expect to locate near Quitman, near the state line with timber holdings in Alabama just across. Ft Conlvis J Peet and H B Parrish of Ithaca were in the city last week as business callers. Mr and Mrs Herbert Montague spent the weekend with friends at Traverse City and Cadillac. T A Burt of Burt Sharrar Moore Co from Urbana Illinois was here last week.
