Democrats battle over Wilson slate at Ithaca convention
In Ithaca last Wednesday a Democratic mass meeting chose sixteen delegates for the Bay City convention on May 15 amid factional fights over whether to instruct for Woodrow Wilson. The Wilson side won and selected their preferred slate after heated debate over credentials and organization. Local leaders including John T. Mathews and DeWitt Vought clashed as Archie McCall and George Stone led the opposing charge. Woodbridge Ferris closed with a warning on political change and praised Wilson.

Ammi W Wright Dies After Stroke at Alma Home
Ammi Willard Wright 89 of Alma Michigan died Sunday afternoon at his State street home after a period of illness including a stroke on April 25. Born in 1822 in Grafton Vermont he built wealth in Saginaw Detroit and Alma through lumber milling and multiple enterprises. He helped establish the Alma Opera House Wright House Alma Springs Sanitarium and several local companies shaping northern Michigan. He married Miss Anona Case in 1885 and is mourned as a man of sterling integrity by the citizens of Alma.
