Alma residents toast weekend with visits and notices
Alma readers report visits from Detroit and Saginaw, weekend gatherings with friends, and local events. Several residents, including J B Sartor Jr and Frank Waite, plus Allen Highfield, Carl Titus, Elmer Pettyjat, and John Marchmont, are noted in town or traveling for summer activities. The civic calendar lists a July 2 meeting of the Alma Chapter No 4 E E S and a Laythow Racing Association summer meet July 5–10 with 250 horses. A charity carnival by Arcadia Ladies Aid raised twenty five dollars with games, a beauty parlor, and an exhibit.
