Holiday Bills Won By Trucks

In a doubleheader the Danville Barger-White team failed to arrive, giving the Republics an opening win 5 to 2 and then a 6 to 0 victory. Foster and Sherlow held the Minas Indiana champs to a total of five and four hits respectively, while Chouinard belted a homer in the seventh inning of the Monday game. Lancaster started the Sunday tilt poorly, but the Trucks capitalized in the later innings as Oakes, Tooley, and Hunter produced key plays. The Republics combined timely hits and solid defense to seal their scores, with Meidell, McElligott, and Bohland contributing offensively in the late frames.
