Daniels Show Fails to Match Last Year's State Fair High
An ANNETTE L. BROWN review notes Charlie Daniels Band lacked last year’s finale buzz at the State Fair grandstand. Attendance fell to 13,587 from 15,800, with fewer dancers and no two hour hit lineup. Fans enjoyed a few highlights like Funky Junky and In America but the new songs fell flat. Encore selections included The South's Gonna Do It Again and Apple Blossom Special. Juice Newton opened with Angel of the Morning and Queen of Hearts.
