Woman testifies Franklin spoke of killing blacks before slayings

In Salt Lake City jurors heard a woman recount how Joseph Paul Franklin discussed killing blacks just days before two joggers were shot. She described Franklin offering to shoot black men and saying white women with black partners "didn't deserve to live" as he rode by Liberty Park. Franklin, self-represented, argued he was a victim of circumstance and bad press as trial proceedings continued.

Chairman A Alan Hill says he has sent environmental concerns over the MX missile to the White House, indicating opposition to the plan. He notes the comments went to Reagan during his California vacation, while CEQ’s broader role has fluctuated since 1970.
