The 1970 Nebraska Republican Campaign Caravan will stop in Sidney at 9 30 Tuesday morning at the Elwell Motor Colot, touring 35 counties in six days across the Third District. McMillen Dispersal Sale Of Herefords In Nebraska
The complete dispersion of one of Nebraska's premier registered Hereford herds is set for Monday Oct 5 at the A G McMillen Ranch Co. near Sidney. About 300 head will be sold to settle Art G McMillen's estate starting 10 30 am with Col James Baldridge auctioneering. The herd includes 220 females bred to proven Swiss Simmental bulls. The sale marks a longrunning effort begun in 1937 from Stanway Real Prince Domino lines, emphasizing performance and range adaptation. The McMillens note the event may be the first time a complete breeding program sells at auction in American beef history. Signage will guide buyers from Highway 30.

Sidney businessman killed in auto upset on Telegraph Road
Ronald Lee Johnson 26 native of Cheyenne County died early Sunday when his 1970 model car left Telegraph Road on private land near the old Sioux Army Depot four miles north and three and a half west of Sidney. Found about 8:30 a.m., the vehicle rolled and ended on its top after going off a steep incline. Johnson, who operated Ron's West Texaco station, left a wife Linda Kleinert and infant son Guy Lee. Surviving are his parents two brothers and a sister. he was preceded in death by one brother. Cheyenne County Attorney Don Tedesco led the investigation. memorials to Memorial Hospital.

High Speed Chase Nabs Two Youths
Two youths were captured after a high speed pursuit near Kimball. A 16 year old from Englewood Colorado on probation for auto theft and a 14 year old from Gastonia North Carolina on probation for breaking and entering were held in Scottsbluff Juvenile Detention. At 1:25 p.m. near 12th and Illinois, Pauline Tewell’s northbound car was struck by Sam Buttenback backing from a curb, with $350 damage to the Tewell vehicle and no damage estimate for the Buttenback auto. At 5:15 p.m., Harry Chasteen’s parked car at El Palomino Motel rolled into the motel unit, causing about $600 damage to the Chasteen car. no damage estimate for the motel unit was provided.
