Supersonic helmet aids pilots bailouts in tests
Santa Monica Calif The Army Air Force reports a new custom fitted helmet for supersonic pilots designed by Douglas Aircraft engineers to stay on during bailouts. Tests show current helmets blow off, stripping head protection and oxygen supply.
