Banks to close Saturday afternoons in Cheyenne County
Four banks in Cheyenne County including Sidney National Bank and The American National Bank will end Saturday afternoon hours starting Oct 3, closing at noon. Funeral for Mrs Wasem Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran
Mrs. Louis Wasem 83 died Tuesday at a local hospital from a heart attack. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Henry Monnich officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. She lived in Cheyenne County 68 years and survived by nieces and nephews.

New Conoco Station Under Construction at Sixth Avenue
The Continental Oil Co has begun a large Super service station project at Sixth Avenue and Illinois Street planned as its biggest yet. A 25000 building permit was filed, though final costs will exceed this figure. The property was bought from Earl Sharman and occupies half a block on the south side of Illinois Street. Details of operation and management are not being released yet. No Continental officials in Sidney commented on the plans.

Sunol Farmer Hurt In Fall From Truck
Ray Knapp a farmer living northeast of Sunol sustained severe head injuries when he fell from the top of a truck while unloading baled hay shortly before noon Thursday. He was rushed to a local hospital by ambulance. The physician reported Thursday afternoon a very severe concussion and the patient remained in a semiconscious condition but as good as could be expected.

City Converts to Automatic Parking Meters

Final rites were held Thursday in St. Marys Catholic Church Dalton for William F. Marrin 75 a longtime resident who died Monday at Pioneer Memorial Hospital after five days hospitalization Burial was in St Marys Cemetery under Gehrig Funeral Home. He was born December 30 1877 at Harpers Ferry Iowa and came to Morrill County in 1910. He was survived by two sons Lawrence and Joe T Marrin and two brothers and two sisters.
