Notices in Cheyenne County Nebraska announce probate of wills for Anna C Borges Elfrieda C Inks Julia Agnes Kubes and final settlement for Rowland B Hill with hearings set in November 1965. Executors and administratrices named include Harold H Borges and Albie Nelson with law firms Clinton McNish Heaton Heatth.
Notice states the mayor and city council will hold a public hearing on November 8 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Room for a package liquor license to sell beer off premises at 1909 11th Avenue Sidney Nebraska. Donald T. Hofer, Auror a Colorado, to move to Sidney, to operate at the Clarkson Addition property. Witnesses may testify under oath or by affidavit. Gordon R. Tobin, City Clerk. Also notices petition for final settlement of the estate of George Wayne McMahon. A hearing is set for November 18, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. in the county court. Sydney G. Finch, County Judge.

The Dramatists Guild plans a program to aid young writers and boost off Broadway activity. President Sidney Kingsley says a fund will grant $50,000 annually to playwrights to enable them to live and write, addressing many who are “literally starving.”
In regular session on October 25 1965 Vice-President Wilson and councilors Preble Hossle and Thorpe were present with Mayor Dorwart absent. One bid from Filsinger Excavating Co Inc for flood dike work at 3540 dollars was awarded pending easements and bond. Building permits for The Thrift Store were approved. Appropriation and treasurer reports for September 1965 were approved. An engineering contract with Fulton & Cramer for sewage plant work was authorized. A zoning commission final report and public hearing plan were approved with notice to be published. A package liquor license application from Donald T Hofer was set for public hearing November 8 1965. Council adjourned.
Travelers Insurance Company filed a mortgage foreclosure suit in Cheyenne County District Court on October 28, 1965, against unknown defendants over property described as all of Section 3 and parts of Section 34 in Township 14 North Range 49 West, with a mortgage dated February 16, 1962 securing a note of February 13, 1962. The plaintiff seeks an accounting, sale of the premises, and a first lien for the amount found due plus costs and attorneys fees, with publication service allowed. Defendants must answer by November 29, 1965.
