Nebraska's agricultural income is forecast at 1.25 billion dollars for 1947, the highest in state history, with Cheyenne County alone expected to exceed 20 million. Agricultural Director Rufus M Howard notes rising costs and a lower purchase ratio for farmers, but sees continued gains driven by livestock, crops, and wheat production reaching 94,292,000 bushels amid favorable weather and market prices. He warns meat production may not rise much, while cattle prices average 21.90 per hundredweight and hog numbers exceed last year by 3 percent.
