John Livoni, a prominent Sidney figure and gun expert living at Ordville, slipped during a hunt sixteen miles southeast and fractured his left hand. He reached aid after blacking out, with a torn index finger, partial thumb injury, and grazing shot to his leg. He was taken to Sioux Ordnance Depot hospital for treatment.

Pioneer Settler Heads Homeward Tour to Norway
Nels Thorstensen a Potter area pioneer left Sunday on the streamliner to New York and will sail October 31 aboard the Gripsholm for Norway. He plans an extended visit near Oslo with relatives after homesteading in the U S since the early 1880s. His son Palmer farms Thorstensen land.
