Chadron Oil Test Drilling Advances in Nee Chadron
A new oil test well northeast of Chadron began Friday with Henkens interests spudding in a cable tool operation. Updike Bros drillers of Newcastle Wy will drill the bore about a quarter mile from last fall’s well, directed by Chadron Oil Co trustees Kile Smith George Rhoads and Bill Lindeken. The land is owned by Charlie Saust. The Henkens lease covers about 4 000 acres crossing the road. This is the third test well in the area in the past year following last fall’s Henkens well and a Hollingworth test earlier in spring, both indicating oil bearing sands.
