Damage In Auto Fire Involving 1956 Chevrolet
An estimated 150 damage resulted when a 1956 Chevrolet owned by Ed Giron of Sioux Army Depot caught fire on the highway south of the Port of Entry. Fire Chief Harvey Vizina attributed the blaze to a gas leak in the carburetor. Earlier, a fire at Ray Haggerty residence on 1936 1st Street, Sioux Villa, caused by a gas cooker grease flare, caused no damage. Fire crews also extinguished weeds burning south of Burlington tracks between 9th and 10th on Osage.
