Robbers Hit Lodgepole Bank In Sunday Vault Heist
First State Bank in Lodgepole closed Sunday night after a vault breach. FBI and Cheyenne County deputies finished the probe on Tuesday, listing a $1500 loss in wrapped coins. no other deposits missing though 20 safety boxes were opened. The thieves entered via a side door, drilled into the vault ceiling, and reportedly caused little damage.

Former Resident Dorothy Sanders Dies at 74
Dorothy A. Sanders, 74, a former resident of the northeast Potter area, died October 7 in Long Beach California. Burial services were planned in Whittier California. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Sanders, who moved to Cheyenne County in 1889 and settled northeast of Potter. Surviving are two sisters Mrs. George Moore and Mrs. Sadie Erickson of Sidney and numerous nieces and nephews in Kansas and California.

One Bid For Building At Cemetery Fire Site
Hiett Steel Co submitted the only bid for a 24 by 32 steel building to be erected at the cemetery site destroyed by fire earlier this year. Four building permits were approved including a business building at 12th and Hickory Street leased by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for wholesale and retail. The council reviewed the 1963-64 audit but has not accepted it yet. Also reviewed was the city’s health and accident insurance program.
