Mulch to control soil erosion says Nebraska agronomist
Alliance panhandle farmers were urged by C R Fenster, a University of Nebraska agronomist, to mulch dry topsoil with residues like straw hay or cornstalks to curb wind erosion. He outlined mulch quantities by soil type, methods to spread and anchor residues, and emergency tillage as a last resort if cover is impractical. He cautioned that without cover erosion may worsen.

Power Line Through Sidney Proposed By Nebraska Utilities
The Nebraska Power Review Board reviews a joint $8.1 million plan by Consumers Public Power District and Tri-State to build 243 miles of transmission lines from North Platte to the western border. The project includes 193 miles of 230 KV line Stegall Sidney North Platte and 50 miles of 115 KV Ogallala North Platte. CPPD and Tri-State expect completion by June 1966 pending waivers and a brief hearing.

Nuisance taxes eyed for revision in 1963 report

Pultz charged with failure to yield right of way. $25 damage to Miller car. A separate 11 12 a m collision at 1344 Osage involved Bertha M Keller and Cynthia Carhill with $50 damage to Carhill vehicle. At 11 44 p m Friday a 1964 Pontiac driven by Darlene M McGuire skidded on grave on a county road and went into a ditch causing minor damage.
