A humorous column recounts World Series pools, a Pettison Liston fight, a GOP rally for Fred Seaton, rain and fog in town, and a CAP search for a missing plane. The writer notes misfortune with pools, mocks a church lighter mishap, praises volunteers, and ends with a bite about a student quip comparing Kennedy to God, interrupted by a reader’s curse on Republicans.
