A Racine man Ralph B. Johnson, 63, died when a car returning from the National American Legion convention in Las Vegas left Highway 30 east of Sidney and struck a telephone pole. Louis E. Summers, 68, of Union Grove, survived with a fractured hip and shock after being hospitalized.

World Herald May Be Sold

The World Publishing Co. of Omaha disclosed it is considering an offer from Samuel Newhouse to purchase The Omaha World Herald. Newhouse, a chain newspaper publisher based in New York, previously bought a minority stake in The Denver Post.
