Rodeo Thrills Set At Krueger's Lake This Weekend
The Lodgepole Valley Rodeo opens at Krueger's Lake Saturday at 1 30 PM with a second performance Sunday. Added prize money totals 2250 for cowpokes in riding and roping events. Performers include Frank and Berniece Dean and Art Zike with horse acts. Bucking stock arrive as the grandstand and parking area at Krueger's Lake near Sidney are prepared. A $165 western saddle will be awarded during the show.

Farm Index Drops as Price Controls Return Reported
The agriculture department says the farm price index declined two percent between mid August and mid September marking the first fall since July 1940. The September 15 index stood at 243 percent of the 1910 14 average, down from 249 a month earlier and 197 a year ago. The prices paid by farmers index fell four points, also the first drop since mid 1940, to 200 percent of the 1910 14 average from 204 and 181 a year ago.
