Nebraska deer case contrasts with North Dakota poaching verdicts
A Nebraska resident was fined 100 dollars and costs plus 300 dollars in liquidated damages for killing and possessing a deer. In North Dakota, two men and a boy from Williston were fined 100 dollars each, costs, and their unlawfully seized vehicle and rifle confiscated, with one man jailed six months for contributing to juvenile delinquency. The North Dakota ruling serves as a deterrent against poaching and aligns with state statutes authorizing seizure of gear used in illegal hunting.
