Also approved a $17,000 administration building at the municipal airport funded by the Civil Aeronautics Administration and authorized purchase of four airport hangars at about $1,100 each. Youth Admits To Lodgepole Theft
Melvin McKellips, 19, confessed Thursday morning to burglarizing the home of his brother in law Gene Juranek at Lodgepole. The theft occurred Wednesday. he was arrested that night. He claimed $26 in cash, cigarettes, and a Japanese souvenir cigarette lighter were taken. He also said he had prior time in reformatories in Golden and Buena Vista, Colorado, and is on parole from the latter. No hearing had been set.

Visit From Sweden Guests In Sidney On Holiday Tour
Visit from Sweden Mr and Mrs Hasse Hansen of Stockholm are guests of Mrs Hansen s aunt Mrs Carl Christ Sr and Mr Christ in Sidney. They traveled from Stockholm to Omaha visiting relatives before arriving in Sidney by train. They plan a Cheyenne visit with Mr and Mrs Earl Witters then Denver to tour Colorado mountains. The Hansens have traveled widely in Europe including Spain and France and this is their first American visit.

Pipe Arrives For New Line From Wyoming to Illinois
Thirty eight cars of pipe moved through Sidney on the Union Pacific Sunday en route to Veteran Wyoming for the Platte Pipe Line Co. The 60 million dollar project aims to run four miles this segment but has suffered from steel shortages. Millard K. Neptune, president, spoke during Oil Progress Week of hoped in operation by August 1, contingent on delivery. The line would pass Cheyenne County between Gurley and Dalton, linking oil fields like East Gurley Huntsman Dorman and Dal ton with about seventy five wells completed since May 1949. The project, backed by Ohio Oil Co British American Oil Co Sinclair Continental and Pure, seeks to relieve bottlenecks and support heavier pumping if needed.

Farmer Held For Shooting In Broadwater Tragedy
Alfred Larson 24 of Broadwater pleaded innocent to first degree murder in the death of friend Martin Borges 31. A coroner’s jury found probable criminal act. Motive cited jealousy over Borges’ alleged attentions to Larson’s wife. Larson testified he shot Borges after Borges grabbed a rifle while deer hunting. Borges died of a bullet wound to the abdomen. Funeral services for Borges were held at Weyerts Lutheran Church.

Two youths held on theft charges after cross country car theft
Jess Owen Williams 23 of Little Rock Arkansas and George Leslie Williams 24 of Queens City Missouri were arrested in Sidney after a drunk driver sighting led to their pickup. The San Bernardino California sheriff reported the stolen 1950 Chevrolet belonged to Calista Owens of Troma California. she said it was taken by force from her husband. The men were held on intoxication charges while authorities prepared car theft and strong armed robbery charges.

State school land auctions in Cheyenne County opened with bonuses reaching twenty thousand dollars per section as the Supreme Court mandated leases go to the highest bidders. Leon Lafler paid 10600 for a half section on the south table, Robert Ernest 19850 for a full section in East Dalton, and Emil Englert Cecil Hunt Harvey Misegadis 7500 for a lease near Sunol. W T Sharman kept his 3600 bid and H Alvin Miller held a 2500 bid on other sections. The sale covered thirty parcels and continues December 4 and 5 with ten leases sold each day.
