A USDA forecast indicates plentiful markets in December with many new items joining the abundant list. Cheese, Grade B eggs, corn products, meat and shrimp, canned peas, dried peas and beans lead the plentiful items alongside vegetables such as cabbage, carrots, Irish potatoes and onions. Fruits like cranberries, oranges, grapefruit, table grapes, winter pears and dried fruits remain abundant, with pecans notably high. Oat products stay strong after a record nearly reached, and a thrifty shopper can plan menus almost entirely from the plentiful list.
