Sidney police search for an unidentified hitchhiker who stole a 1936 Chevrolet coupe parked near the Union Pacific depot around 4:00 a m Friday. Owner John Torguson of Minneapolis reported picking up the man in Ogden Utah and traveling with him to Sidney before both disappeared. No trace found by Saturday noon.

Sheriff Tracked Prisoner Through Nebraska Blizzard

Icy Roads Damage Several Cars Near Gurley and Sidney
Ice coated highways Saturday and Friday caused multiple wrecks across Gurley and Sidney. Jimmie Worth 16 Dalton and John Bailey 19 Sidney collided one mile south of Gurley at 5 25 pm, total damage about 200 with no injuries. Additional crashes near Bund and 10th Street left a 1949 Ford, a 1942 Oldsmobile, a 1940 Chevrolet pickup and a Plymouth coupe damaged, with figures ranging from 10 to 500 dollars, all drivers uninjured.
