City Water Extension Delayed by Council Vote
The City Council tabled a recommendation to extend the water main and connect the park well, opting to study whether a new south end well offers cheaper relief. Utilities manager says bonds would be needed for pump house and 10 inch line, cost around ten thousand dollars, while officials seek a bondless solution. A drilled well near the existing main could boost south side pressure at lower cost, and a spring timetable for a new weir is hoped to prevent summer shortages.
