Tax income hits over twelve thousand daily in November

Polio Victim Taken to Lincoln for Therapy
Mrs. Asa Queen twenty two of Lodgepole was flown from Bridgeport to Lincoln General hospital for post polio therapy after two weeks of illness. Diagnosed poliomyelitis last Wednesday the patient is past the contagious stage with stiff legs and improving condition reports indicate. Marvin Stevenson of Lisco piloted the private plane carrying Mrs. Queen her husband and the physician.

Three Kansas City Boys Held In Auto Theft Case
Three Kansas City youths Kelvin Anderson Donald Bowers and Gene LePage aged 17 16 and 15 respectively admitted stealing a 1940 Chevrolet in Maryville Missouri. They were found near Sidney after their car broke down three miles south of town and were being held as authorities consider Dyer Act and auto theft charges. The Atlantic Iowa car abandoned in Sidney and a 1947 Pontiac stolen from the Hardy Apartments were also reported in the case.

Lost Control Fatality Near Sidney on West Viaduct
Cheyenne County reports its second highway fatality of 1949 when Mrs. William C. Thornton, 39, Sioux Ord Depot postmistress, died instantly nine miles west of Sidney as her 1949 Ford went out of control near the viaduct. The car crashed into a post, rolled down a 20 foot grade, and she likely suffered fatal injuries. Survivors include her husband and her parents. Funeral plans were incomplete.

Officials of the Scottsbluff weather station say the new facility at the airport administration building should begin part-time operation this week. Finishing work includes sanding floors laying linoleum and installing an oil heating system with four of six operators handling most tasks. The building was moved refined and leveled, and will run three shifts seven days a week once all staff arrive.
