Dale Wright of Bridgeport and C E McGee also of Bridgeport won Grand Champion bull and Grand Champion female at the Nebraska Panhandle Hereford Association show and sale held here Wednesday. About 15 000 dollars was raised from 25 bulls and 32 females with average bull price around 380 dollars. Grand Champion bull sold for 960 dollars to Vern Linn of Kimball. Grand Champion female went to Tom Allington of Sunol for 350 dollars. Reserve Champion bull went to Mr. McGee and Reserve Champion cow to Charles Helfrich of Sidney. Heavy buyers included Earl Vowers of Kimball with 11 head and Linn. The association plans a spring sale around April 6.

Clarence V. Jones 82 died Tuesday morning after a heart attack. Services at 2 p.m. at Peetz Community Church with Rev. McPherson. burial in Peetz Cemetery under Gehrig Funeral Home. Born September 16, 1867 in Springfield Illinois, he lived in Shenandoah Iowa before moving to Peetz 34 years ago to farm. Survived by his widow Daisy Mendenhall, two daughters Nora Still and Mildred Michaels, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brother Andrew Jones of Conway Iowa, and sister Mrs. Jane Griffen of Shelden Missouri.

Kinnersley Held On Consecutive Assault Sentences
Albert J. Kinnersley Jr is serving 60 days in Cheyenne County jail after two 30 day sentences for assault and battery. Sidney police arrested him after an alleged attack on his wife Edith Kinnersley while he allegedly resisted arrest injuring Patrolman Francis West. Chief Sol Willis said charges may be brought for assaulting an officer. He pleaded not guilty to wife and mother-in-law assault charges and was sentenced to two consecutive 30 day terms, with more charges expected after.

Fair Fund Is In the Black for 1949 Cheyenne County Fair
Cheyenne County Fair Board reported a 1949 profit of about 1500 dollars after reviewing accounts and will publish a full financial statement in The Telegraph. The board praised the Sidney Chamber of Commerce for grandstand programs and concessions and thanked the public for support. They voted to discontinue entry fees for Neb Panhandle Hereford Association shows and to transfer cattle barn management to the association, with the board covering indebtedness.
