Nebraska Supreme Court declines to supervise political party acts
The Nebraska supreme court ruled it will not intervene in the internal affairs of a political party to protect a purely political right. The case involved a 1902 Lancaster county caucus rule tying ballot access to caucus control, with former Lincoln mayor H J Winnett and others challenging the interpretation of a preliminary election law. The decision emphasizes civil rights versus political rights and notes no court will oversee party management for political ends.
