The Friday and Saturday sessions of the W N E A drew 154 attendees in Sidney with Miss Mabel Gapen and Miss Vinnie Bordwell among performers. Lectures by Dr Baird Prof Cave Kimball and others drew praise, while officers were elected and the constitution amended to move meetings to October.

Fatal Accident Near Weyerts Claims Young German
Garrett Garretts a 30 year old German immigrant living near Weyerts was found dead in his home Friday morning. A broken neck yoke and fence post suggested a wagon accident possibly from being kicked or crushed between the wagon and a fence. Coroner Wright declined an inquest noting no foul play. Garretts had lived in the county ten years after coming from Gothenburg Nebraska and left two brothers and two sisters nearby.

Sidney Juniors Beat Kimball Juniors in Local Derby
Saturday afternoon the Sidney Juniors defeated the Kimball Juniors 12 to 8 on the Sidney diamond. Umpire Principal Orr of North Platte officiated fairly as a scholarly crowd including State Supt Fowler and Supt Bushee watched the game. The wiry Cheyennes showed grit against bigger opponents and pressed toward the next clash.
