Dalton Hosts 4-H Winner, Golf Club Opens May 15
Wayne Walker placed second at the 4 H District speech contest at Fort Robinson with 94 points. First place went to a Dawes County student. The Dalton Golf Club announces opening on May 15 with annual dues of ten dollars, payable to secretary treasurer Ray Graff. The Dalton Volunteer Fire Department answered a weed fire near a burning pole at 2 30 Friday.

The Legion Auxiliary held Tuesday evening installations with Mrs. Eunice Faith as president and other officers named including Mrs. Frank Fehringer first vice president and Mrs. Lauren Miller secretary. Plans were made for Poppy Day and a 200-poppy hat for the Glenwood Springs convention. Community events include showers, visits, Mass and First Communion, hospital stays, and local visits among many residents.

Kite Contest Highlights At Fleming With Busy Scouts
Families and scouts gathered at Fleming Sunday for a kite contest. Kenny Fueher won for highest kite off the ground and grand champion. Dale Hill claimed highest flying box kite while Duck Johnson won most unusual kite. Keith Speery tied for third. A Mothers Day covered dish luncheon hosted by the Altar Society was announced. Den 4 met after school with Mrs Bernie Fueher and Mrs Dean Hunter, making Mothers Day gifts and circus projects. Den 3 met after school with Mrs Donald Fehringer, creating gifts and circus items. Dirk Gillham served treats for his birthday.
