Mrs. Henry Heaton Dies in Denver Funeral Held
Mrs. Henry R. Heaton, formerly of Sidney, died Saturday after a long illness in Denver. Requiem High Mass was at Cure d Ars Church at 9:30 this morning. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Surviving are husband Joseph B. Heaton and children Joseph B., Lawrence T., Rosemarie H., and Robert H., all of Denver.

59 Cancer Drive Enters Residential Phase Tuesday
Approximately 55 Pep Club members will receive final instructions Tuesday evening at 6 45 p.m. at senior high school for their city wide Cancer Drive canvass. The house-to-house drive will begin at about 7 15. It is hoped the drive can be completed in one night. Volunteer firemen are conducting the business drive and report the drive is going strong. John Barnhart 85 Former Sidneyite Dies in California
John Henry Barnhart 85 a former Sidney resident for 45 years died April 6 in Garden Grove California after a short illness. Funeral services were held April 8 in La Habra where he had lived the past nine years. Born in Bedford Pennsylvania he moved to Sidney at age three and was in the first Sidney High School class of 1891. He later worked as an accountant at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles before retiring. Surviving are son Edward Barnhart Long Beach two brothers Guy F Barnhart La Habra Heights and Hugh M Cheyenne and four grandchildren.

Two Escape Injury in Car Train Collision
A 73-year-old Sidney woman Etta Fairchild and her companion escaped injury when their car struck a Burlington train at 13th Ave Sunday evening. Police said the train was backing and collided with the left rear of the auto while a brakeman flagged the crossing.

Vagrant given jail time over vagrancy charge
Ferrell Boswell of Bakersfield California received ten days in the County Jail on a vagrancy charge. He told arresting officers he had a problem. A deputy sheriff reassured him they would provide a meal immediately. Ferrell added his problem was a hole in the seat of his pants.

Truck overturns on county road near Sidney
Ogallala truck driver Harlan E. Owens reported 250 damage to his vehicle after a soft shoulder caused the rig to overturn about five miles southwest of Sidney on Friday evening. The truck, owned by Martin Propane Co. of Ogallala, caused no injuries to the driver.
