Nebraska Potato Inspectors Return Uncertain After 1925 Law Repeal
Nebraska potato growers face a year with no state inspection due to the 1925 repeal of the compulsory law. Acreage rises to about 94 000 acres this year from 84 000, with national plantings near 3 923 000. Demand may push out-of-state sales and create a need for local communities to organize inspection efforts. A former attempt to reinstate compulsory inspection passed the senate but died in the house.
