Mr and Mrs Henry Nelson well known Sidney residents narrowly escaped death when their car hit a moving Union Pacific freight train at a grade crossing west of Pine Bluffs Wyoming Sunday night. Mrs Nelson was cut bruised and shaken. Mr Nelson bruised but able to work Monday.

A Denver News item reports plans by Green Water Production Company to irrigate 3.5 million acres in northeastern Colorado. Well Known Farmer of West of Sidney Dies at Hospital

John Connelly a longtime Cheyenne county resident and influential farmer west of Sidney died early Sunday after influenza and pneumonia. He was 44, survived by his widow and seven children. He homesteaded near Peetz 23 years ago after moving from Lindsey Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at St Patrick's Catholic church at 10 AM with Rev Anton Link officiating. interment in the Catholic cemetery.

Fire damages large Sidney storage plant Saturday night

A blaze at the Sidney Ice and Storage Company damaged upper wall insulation and dry storage areas, with heavy water use and no interruption to lower floors or ice manufacturing. Lincoln March 26 The Citizens Bank Guaranty union organized here Friday to press a constitutional amendment enabling sale of guaranty receivers certificates about 12 million dollars. The plan aims for a self repeating measure by January 1 1932. Petitions will circulate statewide. Dude Chick Wins at Loveland in Wrestling Bout

Dude Chick, also known as Bidney wrestler, defeated Railroad Route in Loveland Colorado in a two fall to one decision. The match occurred on March 23 before a large Estes Park crowd. Route was noted as a well known Colorado fighter with a strong reputation.

James Shannon a 36 year old Los Angeles man confessed to bank robberies in California and Utah while his wife Grace Winkleman 28 born on a Salt Lake ranch denies involvement. They are held for a Meary Utah robbery and to answer Salt Lake City charges as Shannon is sought by Los Angeles authorities. Grace is described as an intrepid former University of Utah graduate who worked as Salt Lake City’s women sports editor and sought adventure beyond ordinary life.
