Potter Girl Crowned Queen at Ak-Sar-Ben Junior Show
Betty Carlson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Carlson, was chosen queen of the Junior Ak-Sar-Ben Stock Show held March 1 at the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis. She is a senior in the Ag school, selected from five nominees for scholarship and activity criteria. Attendants were Lucille Tyler, Donna-Lee Miller, Shirley Flanagim, Barnney, and Beverly Jergens.

County Extension Council will meet Saturday afternoon in Slaney City Auditorium Legion room to discuss women’s activities at the 1950 fair and the open class competition. Mrs Stewart Brown will preside as chairman.

Busy Cooks and Sewers Reorganize Under Mrs Sorge
A March 1 meeting at Mrs. Gilbert Sorge's home reorganized the group with Mrs Sorge as leader and Mrs Ernest Peterson as assistant. Belva Peterson was elected president and Shirley Groshans vice president with Lillian Schwartz secretary. Belva Peterson named song leader and Carol Fastenau news reporter. Next meeting set for April 5 at Mrs Ernest Peterson's home.

Sorority Friendly Venture at Potter Legion Hall
Beta Sigma Phi Beta Alpha held a February 28 Friendly Venture party at Potter Legion Hall with Jeanne Moreland as chair and Dorothy Claycomb as party chair. Fourteen Potter guests attended Bunco with high prizes to Mrs. Don McDonald and Mrs. Paul McLaughlin, low prizes to Mrs. Harvey George and Lola Watkins. A short program followed by a dessert lunch featured pastel cakes and decorations.
