Pasture Grooving Machine Aids Water Retention
Cheyenne County Soil Conservation Service reports use of a pasture grooving machine to lay five inch wide five inch deep furrows seven feet apart on contour. The system holds more water, reduces erosion on upland pasture, and increases grass growth and grazing capacity per field tests at Archer Wyoming. The machine addresses prior objections that grooves hinder vehicle access by enabling proper groove formation.
