Ohio Oil Co of Findlay Ohio filed with the state board for oil and gas leases on over 6000 acres of school land and right of way along highway 19 in Cheyenne County. Two school sections lie within two miles of a producing well, and the company offered 50 cents per acre as a bonus. A $3038 check covered the school land lease and $109 covered the 213 acres of right of way. Fred McCourt of Greeley Colorado said drilling on the right of way is not intended but leases are sought to block rivals from drilling there when they lack adjoining land.

Potter Boy Scouts Win Cancer Drive Prize
Potter Boy Scouts won a $20 prize for raising $109 in donations for the Cheyenne County Cancer Drive. Mrs. Joe Dodds, county chairman, said Potter scouts led all county groups in fundraising as county total reached 936 with more sources pending and the goal was 900. She thanked all contributors and helpers in the solicitation effort.

He suggests eight inch clearance above ground, a moisture barrier of roll roofing or asphalt on one inch grout, and, for old damp floors, two coats of asphalt aluminum paint or moisture proof paper with boards over.

George Juelfs 80 Potter pioneer dies in Dalton
Funeral services for George Juelfs 80 longtime Potter resident were held Monday at the Potter Methodist Church with Rev. O D Hoagland and Rev. R E Anderson presiding. Burial followed at Potter Cemetery. Survivors include his widow four daughters two sons twenty five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He homesteaded north east of Potter after moving from Iowa in 1906. Arrangements were by The Craig Mortuary.

Thomas Henry Clinton 69 died in a Denver hospital after a bad fall. Services Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church with Rt. Rev Msgr. Anton Link in charge. Burial Greenwood Cemetery. Born May 31 1880 in Sidney, he spent 45 years in Denver and most of the last year in Sidney. Survivors include brothers Frank Sidney Ray Lincoln and sister Mrs. Catherine Wellman Roseburg Oregon. Dial Phone Cutover Is Successful
The Northwestern Bell Telephone Company completed the dial system cutover early Sunday with under a minute of outage. Old service ended at 12 08 a m and the new system was in use 58 seconds later. Officials called the operation very satisfactory with minor difficulties and urged patrons to report any flaws to keep the dial system in top shape. Local and district AT and T representatives witnessed the ceremony and praised the fast service amid a heavy call volume.

Child Falls From Car But Survives
Two and a half year old Tommy Green survived a near fatal accident when he fell under his father's car on a viaduct near Sidney Thursday night. He was treated for mild concussion, shock and bruises. Doctors say his condition is surprisingly good but watch for potential complications in the coming days.

Western notes dominated Fort Sidney Days with the Saddle Club leading Friday and Saturday parades among 65 plus horses. Miss Norma Bell and Miss Joy Vandehi added glamour as Hill City Fife and Drum Corps, new uniforms and history making tours boosted the town celebration.
