The June issue of Farm Equipment Retailing says government support prices will face a big test as the wheat harvest begins. Storage capacities are near full, risking large crop losses. corn and wheat prices may fall below loan rates. Also discussed are wheat acreage allotments and quotas, mechanization in northwest Texas, livestock trends, dairy farming, Sudan forage crops, hog sales timing, and a new APF protein factor for hog feed improving gains with less feed.
Nebraska expects its wheat harvest to begin around July 1 in southeast and south central regions with specifics by area. McCook area starts about July 6, southwest counties near Colorado about July 10, and panhandle July 10 to 15. State farm placement supervisor H L Mahan forecasts normal dates and notes combines and workers will be available, despite shortages in adjacent states.

Ordained June 22, 1924 at Latrobe Pa, he has served Kimball for 22 years.
