The article outlines cancers of the uterus and ovaries, noting higher frequency in older women and among certain groups. It distinguishes cervix and body cancers, cites bleeding as a key symptom, and endorses smear diagnosis and treatment by surgery or irradiation, with poorer outcomes in later stages.
Diagnosis hinges on surgical operation for certain cancers
Diagnosis can be made only after surgical operation. Because of the delay the death rate for these cancers is relatively higher than with uterine cancers. Surgery is almost invariably the treatment of these cancers, usually in combination with later irradiation.
