Lodgepole Man Dies Suddenly
Raymond Bruns 34 of Lodgepole died of a heart attack last Thursday. Employed at Sioux Ordnance Depot as a munitions handler, he collapsed after parking on Lodgepole streets and walking to the curb. Military rites were held, burial at Lodgepole Cemetery, wife Louise and two young sons among survivors. Born January 28 1916 in Lincoln, he had lived in Lodgepole years. Funeral at Methodist Church with Rev C R Fitz. Son of Evelyn Bruns of Sidney and brother Arthur. father died in 1944. Army veteran overseas three and a half years.

Sidney Boy Is Missing In Korea From Uintah County
Sad news reached Sidney on Sunday that Sgt. Nicholas A. Meick known as Nick, 20, has been missing in action in Korea since December 1. The telegram from Adjutant General Edward F. Witsell confirmed he was last heard from on Thanksgiving Day and described his unit Company A, Second Division, 9th Infantry, overwhelmed during a seven day march near the Yellow River. Meick enlisted at Scottsbluff in 1948, trained in the U.S., served 18 months in Okinawa, then returned home on furlough before being shipped overseas in spring 1950 from Fort Lewis, Washington, where he remains missing as hostilities continue.

William Stein Services Held
Funeral services were held Sunday for William Stein, 69, longtime Potter area farmer, who died after a long illness in Denver where he had been hospitalized two weeks. Rev. E. W. Bellmann led rites at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Potter. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery under The Craig Mortuary direction. Pallbearers were Wesley Mueller, Kenneth Mueller, Art Baack, Norman Steffens, and Herbert Schuessler. Stein, born April 20, 1881, in Hayestown, Nebraska, was married to Lillie Sielaff in 1908. He moved to Cheyenne County in 1920 and farmed near Potter. Surviving: wife, daughter Mrs. Lou Wittrock, son Harry of Sidney, six grandchildren, four brothers, and two sisters.
