Trout Stocking Continues Across Nebraska Waters

Thousands of adult rainbows were planted by Rock Creek and Valentine hatchery crews as Nebraska opens its year round trout season. Waterways include Schlagel Creek and Long Pine Dake among others. Additional waters will be stocked as weather allows. Eastern anglers will find trout in Fremont and Louisville lakes once ice goes out. The new bay limit and possession limit on trout are five. Also noted: a dryland soil research program will begin in western Nebraska focusing on maintaining organic matter, with findings from the North Platte substation and cooperation with Canadian stations.
