In a four game slate at the auditorium on February 13 Peetz defeated Potter 38 to 13. A Fehringer led Peetz with eight points while Potter’s end saw their top scorer with four. Peetz built a 10-5 halftime edge and pulled away after the break to secure the win.
John Pesek, Nebraska wrestling star, headlines a VFW sponsored show at the city auditorium on Wednesday night. He faces Tiger Joe Marsh in a three fall, 90 minute main event with a 45 minute semi final between Earl Wampler and Emil Dusek. Opening bout pairs Ivan Mikaloff and Doug Lawrence in a 30 minute match. Tickets from Mahler's Liquor Store and Fox Barber Shop. prices 155, 125, 90 and 65 cents.
Potter area scrappers join Potter in South western Nebraska's first official AAU boxing tournament set for March 3 and 4 at Sidney municipal auditorium. Schwartz brothers lead a promising squad for trophies and best fighter honors while 1200 seats await fans. Tickets go on sale at Pioneer Cafe Stag Tavern and Hakker's Liquor store with open gym sessions nightly at 8 00 except weekends.
The freshman squad posted an 47 to 9 win over Potter high school reserves, marking their eleventh victory of the season. Eleven Sidney players scored as the group set a record for Sidney’s fresh teams in two years. Coach Ray Maley praised Ira Lund, Melvin Davis, Wayne Willard, Schubarth and Wickhorst. Dick Weymouth’s junior high seventh graders won 10-5 in a preliminary. The freshmen conclude their season at Potter next Monday after an earlier game at Bridgeport.

Sidney loses 26 25 to Bridgeport Friday in a Class B game. Tonight the Maroons host Scottsbluff in a rough matchup, with Bridgeport’s early season win signaling trouble. Holtman and Vizsina pace Sidney’s scorers as they hope to rebound.
The Irish of St. Patrick's rolled to a 66 to 26 victory over Potter on their home court Friday night. It was their fifteenth win of the year and the most decisive result of the season. The game started slowly but the Irish struck early on a tip off play finished by Meick and led the rest of the way.
