Sidney High's Wrestling Season Opens Under Landmesser and Lade
Tuesday night marks the end of the home season for Sidney High's new wrestling program led by Les Landmesser and Bud Lade. The sport, still emerging in the Panhandle, has drawn 15 to 20 additional boys from idle sports, with several Maroon football players joining the squad. Les credits last summer's recreation program for igniting interest, aided by Lade as a faculty partner. Exhibitions by elementary students at Sunflower hint the team may be a future force despite a 2-4 dual meet record entering a home tilt against Curtis.
