Sidney Nebraska February 6 1903 county board meets with R Emanuelson chairing and approves minutes and bonds for R N Lafollette and others. Board awards Class C printing to The Sidney Telegraph and grants various tax refunds and road funds while adjourning to March 18 1903.
Two jacks one full blood black Percheron and an Arabian stallion offered for sale. Terms are one half cash and the balance in eight months. Buyers invited to come and see the horses seven miles north of Sterling along with some good brood mares. E Buchanan Sterling Colo.
C. G. Erickson of Mitchell Nebraska offers an ample reward for the recovery of six head of cows and calves branded on the left side and ear marked to the left. Range includes Potter Nebraska.

The Board of Health has removed all restrictions on schools churches theatres and public gatherings after the period of potential development elapsed. Preachers resume pulits and schools reopen. The village board is urged to order street cleaning and enforce garbage dumping ordinances once freezing weather ends.

Santa Fe agent Burdick meets shippers as O V Morrison travels to Cheyenne for a banquet. Alex Stewart resigns as Master Mechanic Wyoming division to join Southern in Knoxville. Tim Kelcher probes boxcar thefts with detectives. A special train from New York arrives carrying Mrs Vanderbuilt Jr and party. A hit by formaldehyde poison injures a strike-breaker. Dr McCabe treats him and a formaldehyde supply is required.

President Roosevelt names Jas. L. McIntosh as register and Dr. R. D. Harris as receiver of the Sidney land office. Harris and McIntosh requested the changes, approved by Senators Millard and Deitrich, with Harris previously reappointed in 1898 and McIntosh since 1901.
On Thursday evening a Whist Club was organized at Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Miles home. Officers were elected under a marshal’s authority to quell disturbances. Miss Davey won all three games. Refreshments were served and members planned to meet again at Dr. F. C. Beebe’s residence on February 27 at 8 o clock. By-laws impose a one cent per minute late fee.
A U S circuit court case in Wyoming seeks to declare administrator Whitcomb a trustee for the partnership of Charles A. and James A. Moore. The suit targets $10,240 distributed from government depredation claims after James A. Moore’s death, with Charles A. Moore as sole surviving partner. Attorneys include Herbert S. Crane, Leroy Martin, and Van Orsdel & Burdick.
Sheriff Babb captured army deserter Clarence C. Hamrick, an unassigned cavalry recruit who enlisted at Cheyenne Wyoming on November 26 1901 and deserted in San Francisco eleven months earlier. He faces transfer to Fort Robinson for military authorities action and claims he enlisted underage. He was taken to Crawford yesterday.
The Sterling Democrat notes Simon Fishman retires from the New York Store to lead major business in Sidney. A progressive, winning mercantile figure, he departs with best wishes for prosperity for him and his wife in their new location.
