Declarations and Estimates Under 1948 Revenue Act
Farmers may file the declaration by January 15 1949 if two thirds of gross income is from farming. If filed by January 15 1948 pay the entire balance of estimated tax. Return in place of declaration requires filing by January 15 1949 and paying in full balance. The 1948 Revenue Act lowers tax and withholding after May 1 1948, offers extra exemptions for blind or age 65 or older, and explains withholding as a basis for estimating tax.
