Two Fire Alarms In City On Wednesday
The Sidney fire department was called out twice on Wednesday. At 2:15 AM the fire damaged a dry cleaning truck in Sioux Villa, possibly ignited by a cigarette. Heavy damage was reported though not yet estimated. The second alarm at 10:20 AM involved an Utah Fruit Exchange apple truck east of Sidney. A charcoal heater in the trailer sparked a fire that damaged the trailer and cargo bound for Kern ey.

SCS Members to elect officers at January meeting

Stolen Cars Found But Thieves Remain Unknown in Sidney
Two families lost cars during the Christmas weekend in Sidney. A 1930 Model A Ford owned by David Ells was recovered near Ordville, while a 1935 Ford V-8 owned by Chuck Dalton was found behind the old Beckmann garage on Illinois street. Sheriff W. W. Schulz reported no suspect identified. The Ells car sustained no damage beyond missing items including two blankets a defroster glasses and a hydraulic jack.

Two Men Sentenced To Nebraska Prison
District Judge I Nisley sentenced Ira Bell of Sterling Colp and Carl Koch Jr transient to two years in the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln after Tuesday hearings at the Cheyenne County courthouse. Bell pled guilty to forging Leon Lafler of Sidney on a $50 check and Koch pled guilty to attempted robbery of Elm Street Grocery Thursday night.
