Storage problems loom for Nebraska sorghum harvest
Agricultural engineer E A Ole Olson warns the record sorghum crop strains farm storage on Nebraska holdings. Many farmers have wheat already filling bins and are unprepared for the large sorghum yield. Moisture at harvest determines loan eligibility. If wet weather persists, farmers may need drying equipment or risk field losses and lower grain quality by delaying storage until spring.
