Dr A D Stowitta received his appointment Wednesday as assistant surgeon for the Burlington railroad. Wind and rain last Saturday caused major damage in Sterling Cole destroying the Catholic church and a residence and blowing down a dozen barns. The storm ended quickly but left substantial destruction.
