Freight Trains Collide Near Sunol In Early Friday Wreck
An eastbound stock train and a westbound freight collided between Sunol and Colton about 1 50 PM causing a severe wreck. Both engineers escaped injury by jumping. Five cars derailed with two carrying dried fruit scattered along the track and a car telescoped. Wrecking crews from Sidney and North Platte cleared the line, allowing noon trains to run by the Julesbury branch.

Thursday a refined social at the J. J. McIntosh residence drew about fifty guests for music and cards. A high five contest at nine o'clock filled eleven tables with fifteen games followed by a light collation and instrumental selections by J. McIntosh and others. Prizes were awarded amid the festivities. discussion of school text books and alleged abuses by a board of trustees ended with calls for action to stop the practices affecting students and the public.
