Surplus Farm Exports Under P L 480 Are Poorly Paid

Rep Martin notes U S surplus agricultural products are shipped overseas under P L 480 since 1954 with most exports paid in foreign currencies rather than American dollars. From 1958 to 1963 about 2 358 484 000 bushels of wheat were sent abroad, with only 12 970 000 bushels paid in U S dollars under Title I. Various titles involve barter, government to government aid, and donations. Beef exports to Chile Israel and Egypt total about 39.6 million pounds worth roughly 13.75 million dollars, while U S beef imports reached about 1.8 billion pounds in 1963.

Sidney School Board Reaffirms Student Conduct Policy

The Sidney Board of Education discussed enforcing a student conduct ruling requiring pupils representing the school to avoid anything that could bring adverse criticism. Violations include breaking training rules, attending parties with alcohol or narcotics, immoral conduct, or unexcused absences. Violators face nine weeks of suspended participation, with extra penalties for seniors and a full year for a second offense. The board plans a meeting with student council representatives to address implementation and parental awareness. Have Your Diamonds remounted now Sayther's back in own At The Gift Shop Jewelers.
