World wheat output seen large but not record high
The Agriculture Department reports world wheat production this year may be large but possibly not as high as last year's 8.3 billion bushels. The US export goal is about 750 million bushels, similar to 1966 exports, with the big four exporters—United States, Canada, Australia and Argentina—likely to exceed 2.9 billion bushels. Non Communist imports may dip slightly from 1.1 billion, while Communist Bloc purchases remain hard to predict, especially China.
