Ohio Oil Company won five safety awards in the National Safety Council 1952 contest. The Marathon Retail Marketing Department took a first place plaque, Natural Gasoline Department a second place certificate, and Wholesale Marketing Department a third place certificate. Refining and Pipe Line Departments received certificates of achievement for reducing accidents. All Ohio Oil retail marketing zones earned 100 percent accident-free certificates in the State-Wide Petroleum Marketers Safety Campaign. For the second straight year, Ohio Oil will receive from the Industrial Commission of Ohio the Retail Marketing plaque for the best company record in the state.

Shell reports the Logan County flowing well Tetsell 3 in the Dale field produced 98 barrels of oil with no water in eight hours during a test at 4 681 feet top of the D sand. The well nears completion at 4 491 feet, final rate eight barrels per hour through casing.
